Mic Check Mic Check, time for EGO CHECK EGO CHECK!
If you weren’t there for the December 8, 2011 Occupy Portland open forum at Shemanski Park you really missed a great one-woman show! Adriane Ackerman was on stage, and man was she ‘on’!
Proving once again that she is the Queen of Occupy Portland, Adriane found time to share a song she wrote, comments about her husband and many ‘good times’ with the small gathering. Though the movement is ‘leaderless’ (wink wink) I think all involved know who’s who at Occupy. And the ‘who’ Adriane is? She’s just the most important, brightest shining star of OP, the Queen, a leader, and probably the most valuable player on the Occupy team!
Let me share now what many are wondering: when the major motion picture is made, the Occupy Movie, who will play Adriane? To me, the answer is simple: Adriane Ackerman has to be the actress to play Adriane Ackerman! Who else could even begin to handle that role? Only a performer like Adriane could play herself!
She pulled out everything from her bag of tricks on December 8, every single thing that could possibly draw attention to herself. And, it worked! Kudos, Adriane!
The only rough moment came when she seemingly forgot the upcoming Occupy Portland event times and dates. Oh, well, nobody is perfect but girlfriend you are as close as a human can be!
The final touch, the one that meant ‘so much’ came when Adriane was exiting the stage. She told her adoring fans that she needed a drink and was off to get one. Some might question how those comments played to some in the crowd, the ones with no money that struggle with alcohol addiction. To those that might complain, let me offer you a huge ‘oh well!’ You silly alkies are such whiners! Adrianne is simply so much more important than the rest of us that even a seemingly thoughtless comment from her is ok!
